The Role: Director, Government Relations (Ontario)
We’re seeking a seasoned, relationship-oriented, and strategic thinker to join us as our Director, Government Relations (Ontario). This role is all about leading high-stakes engagement with stakeholders while delivering exceptional results for our diverse roster of clients. You’ll be a key player in shaping strategies, fostering relationships, and driving outcomes that matter.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead Advocacy Efforts: Develop and execute winning government relations strategies to advance client priorities with provincial policymakers, elected officials, and staff.
- Build Relationships: Leverage your extensive network to connect with decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders across Ontario’s political landscape.
- Provide Strategic Counsel: Offer sharp, actionable advice to clients, translating complex policy into clear opportunities and risks.
- Monitor & Analyze: Keep a finger on the pulse of provincial legislation, regulations, and political trends, providing real-time insights to clients and our team.
- Collaborate: Work alongside our team members across the country to deliver integrated solutions that pack a punch.
Who You Are:
- A self-starter with 8+ years of experience in advocacy, public policy, or a related field—bonus points if you’ve worked in or with the Ontario government.
- A relationship-builder with a robust network of contacts..
- A strategic mind who can spot opportunities in a crowded policy landscape and turn them into results.
- An exceptional communicator—whether it’s a briefing note, a client pitch, or a conversation with a decision maker, you nail it every time.
- A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment but knows how to take the lead when it counts.
- Someone with a deep understanding of Ontario’s political, economic, and legislative ecosystem.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience in energy, healthcare, or economic development sectors.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is a plus
